We will call Adelle “Mutt” and Laurana “Jeff.”
Mutt was looking pretty rolly polly (not to be confused with Rolie Polie Olie) this morning. I think she grew last night. Brad measured the girl’s waists. They are the same! 18.5 inches.
This is remarkable because clothing makers have designated 18.5″ to be the size of a 6-12 month old. Apparently both our 2 month old and our 2 year old are the size of a 6-12 month old! What is even more remarkable is that neither girl looks odd. Jeff looks tall and muscular and Mutt looks cuddly, but not fat.

You can see that we would often delay taking the monthly pictures until late at night with Laurana. That’s not an option with Adelle now that Rana is sleeping on that bed at night. Maybe Adi will turn into even more of a morning person than Laurana (oh please let it not be so).

Sorry Adi, no bragging rights here. You were both 18.5 inches, so clearly our swaddling technique changed. (Adi’s on the left, Rana’s on the right in today’s shot, unlike March 24th’s).

I didn’t realize how lucky I got with Rana’s shot. Adi’s pic is the best of about 40 I took (gotta love Canon 20D’s 5 frames/second speed). If we have a third baby, future Brad, remember these tips:
- Stand on the bed post rather than the bed so baby does not keep rolling away
- This should keep your feet clear of the picture, too, but be aware nonetheless!
- Make sure diaper is securely fastened!!!

Someone’s a bit more yellow, and I don’t mean cowardly.

The lighting has a little to do with it, but there is definitely a hair-color difference…

Â
She’s chubbier than Laurana was, that’s for sure. She seems to lack the jaundice too, so hopefully we won’t need the raver blanket this time!

Laurana is fascinated by Adi, and loves to kiss her and pretend to feed her.
We’ll have more pictures up later on our Picasaweb account (http://picasaweb.google.com/yumbrad) … But wanted to get a couple up right away as photographic proof that we have some baby. You’ll have to take our word for it that she’s ours.

P.S. Oh ya… She answers to “Adelle Morrison Bozarth”
… Morrison is Brad’s grandma’s maiden name!
Sarah was also very efficient. One contraction and two minutes worth of pushing and Adelle was here! (That’s one contraction with pushing - quite a few contractions before that with no pushing). Pictures to follow soon, no compact flash reader here at the hospital

Baby #2 seems to be a bit more lackadaisical than Laurana. He/she isn’t in a hurry to come out. So, in the meantime, we had some fun with Grandma and “Gracaw” (as Laurana says) this past week. We went to our favorite picture beach, Manresa, and Laurana was a good model. But just so you know how judicious I am with your time, this album has been trimmed from 97 pictures off of the camera to only 13 pictures in the final album! Only the best for the bozarthfamily.com readers
Oh, and breaking with tradition, this very recent album is going up in non-chronological order. We still need to get caught up from Christmas… Enjoy!

Laurana has quite a few words that she somehow created, and uses consistently, but are definitely not “English.” Here are some of the ones we know of, in roughly ascending order of weirdness:
Dow = Down
Dow = Up
Moy = More
Tanta = Santa
Ank-do = Thank you
Pees (always whispered) = Please
Aiyou = I love you
Diddy = TV
Aiyo aiyo = (a request to sing/listen to Old MacDonald - a reference to E-I-E-I-O)
Baba = Belly Button
Doo = Nose (which is weird, because she’s great at saying “No” and can say “pees”)
Boppy = Bunny
Doggy = Cracker
Shhhh = Fish
Bapoo = Diaper
Mah-moh = Water (drinking water, bathing water)
Pihpih = Pretty and/or jewelry
Deedle-eedle-eedle-eedle (repeating) = Dirty
And my personal favorite:
Hop-ssss (always whispered) = Flower(s)
Additionally, she is a master at animal sounds, and says “woowoo” for a dog, “mow” for a cat, “weewee” for pig (as in this little piggy went wee wee wee all the way home), “booo” for cow, “baa” for sheep, “oohooh” for monkey (waving hands up and down), she beats her chest for gorilla, chomps her teeth for alligator, wrinkles her nose for bunny, roars and makes “claws” for lions and tigers and bears (oh my). Her duck is so good, trying to type it out would do it an injustice; suffice it to say it is very duck-like. She also says “ssss” for snake, “gob gob gob” for turkey, “eeeeee he he he hee” (like a horse neighing) for horse and various versions of high pitched squeaks for birds, mice, and chicks. Finally, my favorite is “ahhga-oodle-oodle-oodle-oodle (repeat as long as desired)” for rooster.

And the rest of 2006 (almost)… We’ve been busy putting pictures up using Picasaweb - it’s very easy to upload and everything gets sorted by date. You can find all our albums at http://picasaweb.google.com/yumbrad
We will still post to bozarthfamily.com in the event of big album updates, additions of pets, births of new children, etc…

Quite an improvement over that old cliché “Christmas in July,” no?
Album 1: Hanging out at Grandma and Grandpa’s
Album 2: Christmas tree decorating
Album 3: Laurana’s First Christmas
Album 4: Laurana 6 months
Album 5: Crib photo shoot
Album 6: Visit with Gramma Swarm
Laurana’s been walking around the office all night, just as a preview of what is happening in the non-time-warped construct we call “reality” ’round here.
